Custom Work Lead times - vary depending on many different things including but not limited to the following:

• Product design time.   Minor design changes to existing Elbin Art products may take less design time compared to a total new design.
• Customer design review and approval of design time
• Number of orders currently in house which can affect manufacturing time of custom product.
• Availability of wood that customer has requested for product.
• Availability of special hardware not made by Elbin Art.
• Type of finish.  Products finished with The Real Milk Paint Company's (RMPCo.) Half & Half or Outdoor Defense take a minimum of 30 days to fully cure.  Products finished with RMPCo.'s Half & Half or Outdoor Defense Oil with additional coat of RMPCo.'s Wood Wax take a minimum of 60 days to fully cure.  The cure time is in addition to the design time (which can vary) and the product manufacturing time (which can vary).  Elbin Art products finished with Shellac or the Howard's Cutting Board Oil, Butcher Block Conditioner and/or Wax-It-All have a shorter cure time.  
• Lead time as it relates to all Elbin Art products is considered lead time to ship and does NOT include shipping time.  Shipping transit times are out of the control of Elbin Art.  If the ship to address is in the surrounding Richmond, VA area, Elbin may deliver the product himself (there may still be a minimal shipping charge to cover fuel, tolls, etc.).  

Pricing

• Pricing will vary depending on (but not limited to) - Time to design product including time to design, changes to Initial design requested by customer during review process, amount of wood required to make product, type of wood, complexity of design, manufacturing time, type of finish, hardware on the product (not made by Elbin Art), etc.  
• An initial non-refundable deposit will be required prior to starting any custom design work which will vary depending on size, complexity of custom design, type of wood, etc. (typically between $30 to $150 however can vary above $150).  
• Once the initial deposit has been paid, Elbin will begin the design process.  
• A design concept drawing and overall price estimate will then be provided to the customer for approval.  If there are requested design changes by the customer to the initial design, a revised drawing and revised estimate will be provided to the customer.  Please note - Original estimate may increase depending on the changes to the design, complexity of changes to the design, changes to the type of wood, etc.  
• Once the initial drawing and initial estimate (or revised drawing and revised estimate if changes were made) has been approved by customer, the remaining amount of the overall price of the initial design concept estimate (or revised overall design concept estimate) will be required to be paid prior to Elbin starting the manufacturing process of the product.  Elbin Art will not start manufacturing process until the remaining amount has been paid.  Initial Design Estimate amount (or revised Design Estimate amount) - initial deposit = amount to be paid prior to starting manufacturing process.  
• For any custom made product where Elbin Art designs the product, the design is owned by Elbin Art and cannot be shared, copied or used without the expressed written permission of Elbin Art.

Custom changes to an existing Elbin Art Wood Product

• For many Elbin Art wood products, the design is owned by Elbin Art.  A customer may want a change to the product (for example - to accommodate a different bottle, glass, etc,).  The design is owned by Elbin Art  and cannot be used, shared or copied without expressed written permission of Elbin Art.  
• Some Elbin Art Wood products may have engraving where the graphics, whether image or text, was developed by another artist.   Elbin Art paid for the use of those graphic designs on an Elbin Art wood product from the graphic designer.  Those graphics cannot be changed, used, shared or copied.

Elbin Art WILL NOT do any custom work, design work or custom engraving  on any Elbin Art product that:

•  Violates the intellectual property rights of others
• Constitute libel, fraud, or other illegal activity
• Constitute or include “hate speech,” i.e., abusive, threatening, or demeaning words, symbols, or images on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, disability, national origin, or sexual orientation
• Encourage violence or abuse against people or groups
• Constitute or include hate speech
• Encourage hate or harassment of private individuals, organizations or groups
• Promote, feature, or encourage the use of hard drugs
• Feature explicit sexual content or nudity
• Include sexually suggestive images or text involving children
• Promote, feature, or encourage underage drinking, smoking, or marijuana use
• Include defamatory statements
• Encourage hate or harassment of public figures
• Dehumanize people or encourages violence
• Include vulgar or lewd content
• Feature sexually suggestive content
• Focus on violence, including events, terms, or images
• Promote, feature, or encourage illegal activity
• Promote or defend criminal or alleged criminal acts
• May inspire harm or violence
