Recommended Conditioning and Cleaning Products for certain Elbin Art Products

For all Elbin Art wood products manufactured and/or purchased after April 2022 and with an Elbin Art Finish Code that starts with HD (HD00BO__) Elbin Art recommends the Cleaning and Conditioning products as described below.

For all products manufactured and/or purchased prior to April 2022, contact Elbin@ElbinArt.com direct to discuss cleaning and conditioning recommendations. Do not attempt to refinish products manufactured or purchased prior to April 2022. Contact Elbin@ElbinArt.com direct to discuss refinishing/refurbishing of any Elbin Art Wood product manufactured or purchased prior to April 2022 for Elbin Art options available to refinish/refurbish the product.

The only finish products that Elbin Art sells are the Howard Products Cutting Board Oil, Howard Products Cutting Board Cleaner (to clean Elbin Art cheese cutter board finished with Howard Products Butcher Block Conditioner), Howard Products Butcher Block Conditioner and Howard Products Feed-n-Wax (only used on some, not all, Elbin Art key racks and coat racks) products. This enables an Elbin Art customer to order more for regular conditioning/cleaning of an Elbin Art product that may have been finished with one of the Howard's products. Refer to the Elbin Art Finish code on the individual product to see if it has been finished with one of the Howard Products. Elbin Art cannot and does not recommend using any of these on products not made by Elbin Art as we do not know what finishes are on products we do not make or what the application might be. Contact Howard Products directly if you have any questions as to whether it will work on a product other than an Elbin Art product (that may have been finished with one of these).

Howard Cutting Board Cleaner

Howard Butcher Block Conditioner

For Elbin Art Products manufactured and/or purchased after April 2022 AND that have the HD00BOBC Finishing Code ONLY, Elbin recommends that Howard Cutting Board Cleaner be used to clean certain Elbin Art Products and as directed on the Howard Cutting Board Cleaner Instructions. This includes the following Elbin Art wood products - Cheese Boards, Cheese Slicers, Glass Caddies, Bottle Caddies/Holders, Bottle/Glass Caddies, Bottle Opener Holders, Bottle Dispenser Holders and Napkin Rings. This is ONLY to be used to clean the wood portion of the above products, not the hardware components of a product.

The natural cleaning properties of lemon oil and coconut soap safely clean any wood surface, leaving it smelling fresh. Specially formulated soap for safely cleaning any wood surface. Contains: Coconut Soap, Coconut Oil, Glycerin, Salt, Citral, Lauryl Glucoside, Lemon Terpenes, Food Grade Mineral Oil, Xanthan Gum. Safe to use on Elbin Art Products that may come into contact with food. Ideal for cleaning and preparing wood surfaces before using Butcher Block Conditioner.

Howard Butcher Block Conditioner

This includes the following Elbin Art wood products - Cheese Boards, Cheese Slicers, Glass Caddies, Bottle Caddies/Holders, Bottle/Glass Caddies, Bottle Opener Holders, Bottle Dispenser Holders and Napkin Rings. This is ONLY to be used to condition the wood portion of the above products, not the hardware components of a product.

The Howard Butcher Block Conditioner is a combination of pure USP grade mineral oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax. It is ideal for conditioning and maintaining all wooden butcher blocks, cutting boards, wooden bowls, and utensils. The penetrating quality of food-grade mineral oil along with the water-resistant traits of beeswax and carnauba wax helps to rejuvenate the wood and prevent drying. Safe for all Elbin Art wood surfaces that may come in contact with food. Contains food-grade mineral oil stabilized with Vitamin E.

Howard Feed-N-Wax

For Elbin Art Products manufactured and/or purchased after April 2022 AND that have the HD00BOFW Finishing Code ONLY, Elbin recommends that Howard Feed-N-Wax be used to condition certain Elbin Art products and as directed on the Howard Feed-N-Wax Instructions. This includes the following Elbin Art Products Coat and/or Key racks as well as wood flower vase bases. This is ONLY to be used to condition the wood portion of the above products, not the hardware components of a product.

Not intended for food-prep surfaces. Feed-N-Wax Wood Polish & Conditioner is ideal for enhancing the natural depth of grain while providing added protection and luster to certain Elbin Art Products. Feed-N-Wax helps introduce conditioning oils that “feed” the wood while providing a protective coating of beeswax and carnauba wax. This unique blend of beeswax, carnauba wax, orange oil, and other beneficial ingredients help preserve and keep the wood from drying out, fading, or even cracking. Feed-N-Wax should be used whenever the wood starts to look faded or dry, usually every month or so. Contains no silicone or linseed oils. Not intended for food-prep surfaces. DO NOT USE on any Elbin Art Cheese Boards, Cheese Slicers, Glass Caddies, Bottle Caddies/Holders, Bottle/Glass Caddies, Bottle Dispenser holders, Bottle Opener Holders and Napkin Rings.

Please note that Elbin Art does not make any glasses or any of the hardware on the wood products (openers, clocks, candles, metal handles, screws, bolts, hooks, etc.). Elbin Art makes many wood products that hold/display coins, poker chips, etc. and while Elbin Art also sells some coins (not made by Elbin Art) those coins are sold/shipped separately.

While Elbin Art does offer custom laser engraving on certain Elbin Art wood products, Elbin Art will not do any laser engraving of company logos unless the customer has provided written permission from the particular company. Elbin Art does not do any laser engraving of any College logos, Pro sports team logos or military logos as they are copyright protected and Elbin Art currently does not have a license from those organizations to use their logos for engraving. Elbin Art does not do engraving on glasses, etc.

Some standard Elbin Art wood products may have engraving/inlay where the graphics used for the engraving or inlay may not have been developed by Elbin Art. In those particular cases, Elbin Art paid for the use of those graphic designs from graphic designer and based on the graphic design seller's guidelines (which may vary on a case by case basis). While Elbin Art may have purchased the clip art for use on a Commercial product, Elbin Art does not own the copyright for the clipart - the graphic designer owns the copyright. DO NOT copy any of the graphics for personal or commercial use as you must pay for the use of the artwork from the graphic art seller. Some graphic art seller guidelines may or may not require recognition of their work however Elbin Art will always list who the graphics was purchased from for the piece regardless if recognition is required or not for a few reasons - Elbin Art is not taking credit for graphics that was not made by me, give credit to the graphics designer that did the work and reinforce that Elbin Art takes copyright/trademark laws seriously.
